I can STAY! Yep, Mom was making me do my "homework" last night and she got this brilliant idea to ask me to stay. And I did it! She was so happy and excited that we even did it a few times. Then Dad got all excited. Who knew staying in one place could make parents so happy?

I'm now into 3rd grade (aka the front yard) on my sit and down tricks...I don't like to say commands because who really likes taking orders, you know. And don't tell the trainer, but we even "previewed" 5th grade this past weekend. The Starbucks and art gallery was a little advanced for me, but I did pretty good. Now I get to go and try it on a regular basis. How cool is that?

Today was my 4 month birthday. Happy Birthday me! Anyways, I get my final shots on Saturday and then I get to go to the dog park. How much fun! I'm not sure what a dog park is, but I'm sure it has to be fun. I mean there are dogs there and well the park thing I'm not sure what that is yet, but it can't be bad if they let dogs go there.

I'm going to go practice my staying a little more.....I just love it when Mom and Dad get excited about my tricks. Plus, it helps them forget the things I'm a little slower on like chewing, barking in my crate, and biting things like fingers and toes. :-)

P.S. I am a witness that Mom is working on pictures to update the blog with. There was some technical problem that happened on Monday...not sure what it was but Mom was NOOOOOOT happy about it. Hopefully Dad will have it all fixed this week and my pictures will be updated. So please if you see Mom don't ask about the pictures....it's not a pretty site when you do.

Weekend of March 23rd - 25th

What a weekend! I went to my Cousin's place and had a play date with Roly and Baron (not quite sure about the spelling, but then again I am a dog that is blogging, so how much can you really expect?) They were so much fun to play with. I first played with Barron. He was so nice to me. At first I wasn't sure of him because he growled a lot. But then I found out that is how he plays. Once I got that, I stopped running into Mom and Aunt Helen's lap. Once I got use to him, Roly came out to play. He's about a year old and he was much more ambitious than Baron. Which was great for me. I could jump on him and everything and he thought it was great!

I also watch the two of them catch frisbies. That is a really cool trick, and I can't wait until I can do that too. They were so much fun to play with! I can't wait to go over and play with them again.

I also got some toys this weekend....because I'm such a good boy. I got a swimming pool and chew toys. I can't wait to play in the pool. How much fun with that be! Dad also played with me with the water hose. That is the greatest toy ever! I love chasing the water and getting all wet.

I also went to Starbucks again. Mom and Dad said that for the most part I was really good. I sat and even laid down when I was told. There was an art fair going on so I got to walk around and talk to people. For the most part everyone petted me. But some people walked right passed me without stopping to pet me or say how cute I am. I'm not sure how that is possible, but they did. It was so strange. Don't they know how adorable I am? I mean, yes I'm growing, but come on people....wagging tail, amazing eyes, cute face.....what's not to love? At least the kids still love me.

Off to chew on my new toys.

Logan - still adorable, but needs to be petted more

I received my first email today! It was from my Grandma and Grandpa Giedt. They have been reading all about my adventures, which is cool because sometimes it seems that I'm talking to myself here. I can't wait to meet them. How much fun will that be? I'll be treated like a King....at least that's what my sister Mele says. She says that when they come to visit they spoil you by petting you non-stop, playing with you, and all kinds of stuff like that. I can't wait....man will that be the life!

I also have a play date set up on Saturday with my Cousin Helen. Well, actually her dogs but I'm sure she'll play with me too. I mean after all, who can resist this cute face. And man do I need to milk it, I'm getting older and that puppy cuteness is starting to fade. I'm starting to be a cute dog. Still cute, but not as cute as puppy cute, you know.

As for my tummy, I'm feeling much better. I'm still on some medicine, but my energy has returned. Mom and Dad seem to be glad, but sometimes I get the feeling they would rather I be a little bit calmer.

I've also learned a new trick...barking. I know every dog knows how to bark, and I did too before. But I've learned to voice my opinion when I am about to get food or really want out of my crate to sit with Mom and Dad. I thought it was a cool trick, but Mom didn't seem to think so last night while we were watching TV. Dad didn't seem too happy either. I don't see what the problem is I thought people were allowed to speak freely in the country.....but I guess that is limited when you're a kid.

Off to re-read my email from my Grandparents again....how cool!

NOTE from parents: Barking is not a trick no matter how cute you are. As for the spoiling, only good, non-barking, obedient puppies will be able to be spoiled.

Monday

Weekend of March 16th - 18th

Wow did I have a packed weekend. First of all, I wasn't feeling that well on Friday. My tummy was upset and I started to refuse to walk again. But a little dog names Roxy came along and played with me. We played (and walked) for about a 2 blocks before she had to go her way and I wanted to go back home. Roxy's parents are nice too. They petted me and said I was cute.

On Saturday, I still wasn't feeling well so Mom and Dad took me to the vet. I saw a new vet and he was really nice to me. He gave me some medicine and my tummy should start feeling better within a few days. I also got weighed at the vet. I now weigh 21.3 pounds. YEAH! I'm growing. Also Aunt Gayle and Uncle Dave came over to visit....ok they had dinner with Mom but they said hi to me too.

On Sunday, I spent my first full day alone. Mom, Dad, Aunt Gayle, and Uncle Dave went up to wine country. They left me all day by myself. But that's ok, that's what big puppies do...when they are big enough they get to stay at home by themselves. :-) But I have to say I was really happy when Mom and Dad came back home. It was really great to see them and play with them. I also pulled another escape trick with my crate! I got out and was walking around until Mom woke up. Guess I shouldn't have tried to jump up on the bed.....good to know next time.

Off to do puppy things....talk to you soon.

March 11, 2007

Today was so beautiful outside that I spent most of it in the backyard with Mom. I played in the water hose again. And I heard rumors that I'm going to be getting my own pool. How cool is that?

I also met my neighbor today, Kata. She's great. She's the first dog that I've met. I hope all dogs are like her. She ran and played with me for a really long time. I was so tired and hot afterwards. I went and stood in front of the water hose for a really, really long time and then went and took a nap. But man was it fun playing with her. I hope I get to do it again sometime soon.

Off to explore the backyard...

March 10, 2007

Today was really warm out and Mom showed me this cool new toy.....it's a water hose. It's sooooo cool! Mom turns it on and puts it on the ground and then I can bite, paw, and run through the water. It's great!

I had to work more on my 2nd grade training today. It's not my favorite thing, but it makes Mom and Dad happy so I guess I'll keep doing it.

I am also finally giving in on the walking thing. It's been a little less than a week, but I've been walking without giving too much trouble to Mom or Dad. It's kind of fun actually because when I go for walks I sometimes see people. And everyone loves me when they meet me. So by not walking I'm actually depriving them of Logan time...and let's be honest, everyone could use some Logan time.

Now don't get me wrong, I love my Mom but she did something really mean today. She ate in front of me. It was the first time and while she ate I wasn't allowed to beg or anything. Only after she ate did I get to eat. I think that trainer guy told her to do it, but it was so mean. However, I was good and got lots of tummy rubbing after she ate, so I guess it's a good thing. Man this training stuff is so structured. What happened to happy go lucky puppy?

I'm going to go take a nap now....it's rough being so adorable.

March 9, 2007

I had a great suprise on Friday, Mom stayed home with me and I got to hang out with her all day. We worked on my Sit and Down commands. I even graduated to 2nd grade, which means working on Sit and Down in the backyard. I sometimes get it, but sometimes there are so many things to check out that I get distracted.

I also got to go to Dad's work and meet some of his co-workers. It was so much fun. They came out and petted me and said how cute I was. Everyone loved my eyes, which I have to admit are one of my best features. It was great! I can't believe that there is a place where all these people are waiting to play with me. I'm not sure what they do when I'm not there, but it can't be half as fun as playing with me...must be why so many people came to play with me. I mean after all I AM the cutest puppy ever.

I also got to ride in the car a lot. This time we had the windows down which was new, but it was so nice out that it was pretty much a given to put the windows down.

Well, off to go sleep. It's been a busy and full day and I'm tired!

March 5, 2007

I'm not sure I like this trainer guy. Did you know when he's not there I still have to work? Mom and Dad have homework assignments they have to do with me. Homework. With me. Which means I HAVE TO WORK TOO!

I can't chew on flip flops. I can't chew on the chairs. I can't chew fingers. I have to wait to go through the door. I have to listen to EVERYTHING Mom and Dad says. I mean come on people EVERYTHING!

The only good part is that every time I do something "right" I get loved and hugged and petted on my tummy. So I guess I'll keep doing that. I mean petted on my tummy....what puppy can resist that.

Logan - pet my tummy ALWAYS!
Weekend of March 3rd & 4th

I have a trainer. Yep, a dog trainer. What I overheard was correct. I need a dog trainer. Still not completely sure why. I'm cute. I have floppy ears. I'm cute. I'm growing but still small. Did I mention I'm cute?

Anyway, I met the trainer. And well don't tell Mom or Dad but he seemed pretty cool. He said I was a really smart puppy. I mean I already knew that but it's always nice to get some outside assurances. He was hanging out (ok training, I just don't like using that term) for 2 hours with me. And yes he didn't focus completely on me, but I guess it would be rude of him to come over and not talk to Mom and Dad.

Afterwards I was so tired from all the work and thinking I had to do. I mean when you're this cute you shouldn't have to use your brain that much. Just ask Garfield...yeah I know he's a cat, but he knows how to work it. The good thing though is that I slept all the way through the night. My first time. YEAH! I'm growing up. Woo Hoo.

Mom and Dad were happy too. Not sure why they don't like hanging out with me in the middle of the night, but I'm glad they were happy.

I also got to go to the vet this weekend. They love me there. I get lots of kisses when I go to the vet. I also got weighed. I'm 16.9 pounds! Yep. I'm getting big. So not only am I adorably cute, I'm growing up. I can't wait to see how much I weigh in 4 weeks when I go back to get my final shots.

Well, off to do what cute puppies do.

Logan - the cute AND smart puppy

Friday

Logan the Houdini

I am the amazing Houdini (in the dog version). Two nights this week I was able to break free from my crate. But I didn't really take full advantage of it.....I just sniffed and walked around the bedroom.....should have thought that out more because I could have run a muck if I thought of it. Hmmm.....next time.

The Amazing Logan the Houdini

Note from Mom: Dad did it. It happened on his watch. He didn't shut the crate correctly.
Note from Dad: How can I shut the crate correctly at 5am? And he should be going right back to sleep.....not escaping....crazy dog.

February 28, 2007

I'm 12 weeks today! Mom took lots of pictures of me. She says I'm growing to fast. I don't think so at all. I also went out in the backyard for the first time. I had a lot of fun chasing the ball. And I didn't have to walk because I wore myself out with the tennis ball. Best of both worlds.
