Logan the Puppy

Monday

Weekend of April 20th - 22nd

I was a task master this weekend. I made sure that Mom got some pictures uploaded of me. I stood over her (ok sat at her feet asleep) and growled (more like snored) until she was done (gave up because her home computer sucks). But there are new pictures of me, check out the links to the right. Now because I was such a mean, growling dog not all of the pictures are up to Mom's normal standards (that and the computer was not cooperating) so just look at the cute puppy and ignore the quality of the pictures until Mom can fix them.

As you can see I'm growing a lot. I can't wait until you see the pictures from this month. Man have I shot up! Those will be posted soon.

I was pretty laid back for the rest of the weekend. I watched two movies with Mom. One was called Must Like Dogs which was great because I got to see lots of dogs in the movie. I also got to play at the dog park again. I was gained up on my two dogs. I may be little but I will not be pushed around so I gave back as good as I got. After all, my ears are cute and floppy and nobody is going to chew on them but Mele!

I have also been banished to the dog run during the day (when Mom and Dad are there). I was told because I'm such a big dog, but I'm still little. I prefer not to be out there by myself, all alone, in that big open space, with the wind, and no grass. I do not like it one bit. But Mom and Dad are bigger than me and I can't win. Therefore, I have a plan!

My plan...it may be simple, but I think it will work....I am going for walks. If I give in on the walking thing, then maybe they won't put me in the dog run. Now I'm not so keen on giving up the not walking thing, so every once in a while I may just refuse, but I think this will work.

I am a puppy that is 5 months old. I can sit, lay down, come, and I am working on several other necessities to be a good puppy. However, I cannot do everything just yet. Why do you ask that the most adorable, lovable puppy is stating this? Well, Uncle Kyle is the reason. He came over last night....and mind you not to see me....to see Dad. Can you believe it?

He did play with me when he first got there and I got to see him before he left. But he was not completely 110% in love with me. I can't imagine why. Did he not see my floppy ears? Did he not see my cute little nose? Did my head tilted to one side not melt his heart?

It is a sad, sad, day. Why? Why cruel world? By the way, did I tell you I got to play with the broom again? I mean am I suppose to pay attention and do everything that I am suppose to do at 5 months? Do I have to stay focused all the time? When I was chasing the broom I got to run around in a circle over and over so much that it made Mom dizzy. I mean it's not like I don't know things...did I mention I can sit. Ok not when I get really, really excited because really who can sit when they are so excited. Well, I just don't know what to do I mean I guess I'll just....oh stuffed squeaky toy...

Tuesday

Catching up from last weekend (April 14th - 15th)

There has not been a lot going on in my world lately. I miss my grandparents. They went back home and it's just not as much fun without them. Mele misses them too. She told me while we were "bonding" or as Mom likes to call it "trying to get me use to her without eating her".

I did get to see Aunt Celeste and Uncle Kyle. They love me too. I got to play with Aunt Celeste and she's so much fun! It was so nice for them to come visit, plus I know Mom and Dad like hanging out with them too.

[Disclaimer from Mom: I hope this next statement doesn't jinx Logan.]

I am potty trained. Yep, I ring this bell when I want to go outside and Mom and Dad take me out. I've been doing this for about a week and Mom and Dad love it when I do it. Yeah me!

I also graduated to my big boy crate at night. I got too big for my other crate that's I've been in since I came home. I'm so big now that I can put my feet up on the kitchen counter and my nose up on the kitchen table. However I get scolded when I do that. Not sure why, I mean I just got tall enough to see what's going on up there. There is a whole other world up there and I want to know what's in it. It's not my fault for being curious.

Other than that I am just hanging out. Doing my homework each day. And trying to be the best little puppy ever.....ok I'm already the best, cutest, most adorable, little, puppy ever but I need to practice being humble people.

P.S. Mom really hopes I don't relapse on the potty training after I just bragged to everyone. That would not be a good thing.

P.P.S. Yes Mom is still going through the pictures of me and taking lots more in the meantime. Be patient people, I'm a handful and don't leave much time for picture sorting.

Monday

Weekend of April 6th - 8th

People love me. They love me so much that they travel for miles and miles to see me. My grandparents are here! And just to see me.....ok and maybe Mom and Dad....but mainly to see me. They are so great! And Mele was right, they do spoil me. I am in petting overload right now. And they think I'm a good puppy too.

Then The DiPiazzzzzza (I'm a dog, and that's how it sounded to me) came by to say hi. They came over just to see how cute I was.....and to go to Hawaii. Now I'm cute but even I can't compete with Hawaii. Anyway, I got to see Sophia and she said that I've grown a lot. I kind of scared her with my bark, I didn't mean to but I was so excited to see her that I couldn't help it.

I also had some first this weekend. I went to my first pet store. I really liked it and Mom said that I did really well inside the store. I got a free toy from the owner. And there were so many people that petted me. Plus there were other dogs there. It's the best place ever or so I thought until......

I went to the dog park. Who knew that there were so many dogs that came to play in the dog park. It was another first for me and I was so excited. I was smaller than all the other dogs there but I held my own. I took down one dog who kept pinning me to the ground. Puppy Power Activate! Just wait until I get bigger, I'll show her not to bite my legs.

Aunt Susan also came over to see me too. She says that I'm a good puppy too. And she even brought Mom a baby scrapbook to put pictures of me in. Plus the dog trainer was really impressed with how far I had come since our last lesson. I'm a star pupil. But now I have to learn all these other things like Stay, doing commands when Mom and Dad aren't right there, and Come. I like the Come part. That's my favorite.

Needless to say I've had a full weekend. I'm going to go rest, after all my grandparents are still here and I need to be well rested for all of the petting that is going to happen tonight!

Wednesday

Weekend of March 30th - April 1st (and then some)

I have been one busy puppy. Where do I start....hmmm....oh yes the vet. I got my final shots from the vet on Saturday. I didn't even notice them because the vet tech was petting me and everyone knows how I love attention. I also weighed in at 28.8 pounds. But now with my final shots I can go anywhere I want. I can even walk around at the vet office....which Dad was happy about not having to carry me.

Not only did I get my shots on Saturday, but I had a really big day. I got my picture taken with the Easter Bunny. (Pictures will be picked up on April 4th so check back.) I also went to the salon with Mom. Dad and I waited outside and everyone who came and went petted me. I love being cute!

We also went to Starbucks where I still am doing pretty well with my training (I mean tricks). However, I met this really unfriendly dog names Ladybug. She looked nice but when I bothered her to much she nipped me. Mom and Dad were not happy with her owner and frankly I don't blame them. This is a cute face and it must be protected at all costs.

I was so tired after the shots and the whole morning activities that I pretty much slept the rest of the day on Saturday.

On Sunday people came to visit me.....I mean came to the party Mom and Dad threw.....but really to visit me. I got to meet Ryan and he's so cute and sweet like me. He even has 3 baby teeth. I got so excited that I forgot to tell him that I have baby teeth too. They are starting to fall out and my big boy teeth are coming in. I bet Ryan can't wait for that!

So far the rest of the week has been pretty normal. Dad recovered the lost pictures. YEAH DAD! And Mom is going to upload stuff this week so everyone can see my cute little face. Dad kept saying that I use to be so small, but I'm still small. I'm not even half my full grown weight yet Dad.

And finally, as much as I hate to end on a bad note, I had to walk again last night. Mom and Dad have been wearing me out running in the yard and chasing the ball for a few nights. So I thought I was done with all this walking business. But no. I had to walk. I tried my best to resist but Dad actually picked me up and carried me a block. I didn't think it was that funny, but Mom got a big kick out of it. So here we are again, back to the walking. Have I mentioned lately that I hate walking. Why can't I just stay at home and eat everything in site? Hmmm?
